Hey hot stuff!

That’s what I yelled at my husband from my car, on my way home from work today as he was riding his bike to campus. He made me blush. I love it when that happens.

And I hate it when this happens.

food and sad snow 012

When it snows on a Monday. Monday’s already suck at it is. But then there is the rest of the week.

But then there’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on friday….fun..fun..fun…fun.

You’d be crazy to think I wasn’t going to do that. Anyways, this weekend we are heading down to Salt Lake! We’re going to General Conference on Sunday and we have a fun filled weekend getaway planned. Well, I do. Brad doesn’t really know about all of it.

We both took tomorrow off of work, to do some of our very favorite things.

Sleep, for one. Road tripping, for two. Antique shopping AS we’re road tripping, for thirdsies!

For serious, I married my soul mate. And yes, I started typing “cereal” instead of serious. cereal. We always find something we love. My last love was a brown leather belt and it was perfect, as in 5.00 perfect. Brad’s last love a razor, of course! There are lots of antique shops from here to SLC and we plan on stopping at them!

I ran out of face lotion. My staple. The closest I have found it in Id, is in Boise. Go figure. Well, I’ve been holding out for weeks, knowing I could buy some At Salon Services in SLC on Saturday! I even tried using Aveeno, and it nearly burned my skin off and I haven’t been able to wear make up in two weeks. I’ve been using it for years and I’ll never use anything else!

I’m so glad brad and I get a weekend out of Rexburg, we really need it.

Now Laugh!

Home sweet home

Well, I should say rental sweet rental. Brad was gone since Thursday morning! He was in Montana for a preseason trip and I was left all by my lonesome in rexburg for the weekend. It was weird with him gone, I felt like I was either an old maid or a bachelorette. Either way, the house was clean. I kept myself occupied by doing hair and watching glee.

Anyways, Sometimes I get sad. It’s really hard living away from family in a town you can’t stand. Brad is my best friend. We know each other so well and he always knows when I am down and need ice cream. He gives the worlds best pep talks and knows how to make me feel better. Everything right now is temporary. Brad has one year left here in Idaho.is it too early to start counting down the days?

I’m just thankful I have him. Being married is awesome, being away from family on the other hand is not. Especially when my sister just had her baby boy this morning and I am here watching other peoples babies. One of which was using her “abra ca dabra” wand to whisk herself away “to the future” today. I wish it were that easy, girlfriend.

Wanna know what else bums me out? Season  five of Mad Men is not coming out until early 2012. It was a sad, sad day in the Kunz household when we found that out. Sad year, more like it.

pup.

I’m Puppy Hungry. Not to be confused with Baby Hungry. Puppy Hungry.

I spend the majority of my youtube and pinterest sessions, looking up at cute videos and pictures of puppies.

The other night there was a moment that broke my puppy wanting back, Just ask brad.

There I was, minding my own business while browsing on pinterest and BAM. This puppy was staring back at me. I started to cry. I don’t think Brad knew how to react.

My heart aches for  a puppy and I can’t have one.

I’ve tried convincing Brad that I NEED one with statistics that show people with dogs are happier and healthier. Even if I could convince him, we can’t have one in an apartment.

Come graduation, I’m buying myself a puppy. I’ll have all the puppy snuggles I could ever want.

Have I ever told you

that I married a pretty cool man? Did I ever tell you that he’s pretty good at thrifting? Well now you know, and now you’re jealous. He’s pretty dapper. Which is like, the highest compliment anyone could ever give a man. You should see him on Sundays…the man is dapper. Just don’t give him the googley eyes, he gets enough of that at wal mart.

Does this man look familiar? He should. It’s the Don Draper. He’s the definition of dapper.

And how do dapper men shave?

What a coincidence.

Dapper men shave with these;

razor 001

This one is a Gillette TTO (Twist To Open,) or Butterfly razor. Only razors made before 1921 have serial numbers and this one didn’t have one on the handle, so we can only assume when it was made. But the type of stars printed on it remind me of late fifties, early sixties. The top opens from the center and a double edged razor sits in the middle.

This one is a Gillette Safety Razor, it happens to be made in 1911. The double edged razor sits in between two plates that the handle screws into. The silver case holds the blades.

razor 002

He started shaving this way after we got tired of paying for dang expensive razors 16.99 for four razor blades? And he had been debating buying one for awhile and once we found one at the antique shop, he had to have it. He loves it. It takes longer to shave, but his skin in the smoothest I’ve ever felt it. He even let me mix his soap once, it made me feel special. Did I mention how cheap it is to shave this way? We found the razors at an antique shop for $16.oo total, a pack of 10 blades costs $3.oo, and a bar of soap costs $1.oo.

He is basically the most dapper, handsome, and creative man I could have ever fallen in lurve with.

By the way, what is the female version of dapper, you ask? Va Voom.

Joan Harris, previously Holloway.

My Husband.

He is patient. He will going out of his way to help someone, stranger or not. He is smart. He is comforting. He is motivated. He is generous. He is hilarious. He is kind. He is hard working. He is the calm to my chaos.

Gobble Gobble

I sound like a turkey. According to a preschooler, I don’t sound like a man, I sound like a turkey.  A preschoolers words, not mine. Because I don't have any. No voice=no words.

I was sick last week. Working in a daycare, I have a  bi-weekly rotation of sicknesses. I’m better, but now my voice is gone.

Wanna know what I made for dinner tonight? Garlic basil shrimp, with a asian salad. We had this last night and it was so good. And when I say so good I mean it was as if Thailand had a fourth of July, in my mouth.

----

Wanna know something cute? A two year old singing “I love to see the Temple.”

I melted, right there and then. This was the same one who blessed his lunch, and timed his prayer to end right as I handed him his plate. Adorbs.
